I recently had to setup an old Garmin etrex 10 for the coming field season, so I thought I would write a quick guide to streamline the process for other people necessary explanations: file gmapbmap.img (basemap) has a null size, it is replaced by a user map with the same name; What I do with my Etrex 10, which sits in my car for the "just in case" is use GSAK to strip all the info, logs, description etc from it, which leaves a small footprint, the phone is used to read the description, logs etc.
